It is estimated that 27 million people will benefit from this tax cut from 6th January 2024, saving £450 per year for the average salaried worker on £35,400. If you’d like to calculate how much you could save, HMRC have launched an online tool here.
For the self-employed, there will also be a National Insurance cut, but not until 6th April 2024. This will be worth £350 for the average self-employed person on £28,200.
