It’s International Women’s Day on 8th March, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The mission of IWD is to ‘forge inclusive work cultures where women’s careers thrive and their achievements are celebrated.’ At McPhersons, who employ over 30 staff, more than half are women. However, it’s not just about employing women, it’s ensuring they are in a position to achieve their career goals. Importantly, women are not just represented at board level at McPhersons, they also form 50% of the management team in total. Lucy Nicolaou, Accounts Manager at McPhersons,is a perfect example of this
“My career with McPhersons started back in 2005. In that time I’ve brought up 3 children whilst continuing to develop my own skills and build my qualifications. Just last year, I passed my final exams and am now an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. IWD celebrates the achievements of women and equality and my achievements would not have been possible for me without a supportive working environment.”
