Peter Watters


Peter has been with McPhersons since 2005 and has built up strong relationships with a range of long-standing clients.

He has specialist knowledge in audit, owner-managed businesses, charities, cloud-based software and business valuations.

His clients are from all sectors but Peter particularly enjoys working with clients in the hospitality industry (especially pubs and restaurants!) , high-tech engineering and construction. He, like the other directors, works closely with the tax team to offer an all-round service to his clients, ensuring every decision made has a positive tax advantage where possible.

His experience ranges from multi-nationals to small businesses and he is renowned for his approachability, having a grounded approach and the ability to explain complicated issues in plain English.

Peter understands that the importance of sound financial planning and helps clients make real time decisions through effective, modern reporting techniques , enabling them to make timeley decisions to promote business growth and profitability.

Peter is a certified QuickBooks adviser and has helped many clients make the transition to digital accounting over the past few years. He is also the firm’s reporting and auditing director.

Commercially aware and adaptable, Peter  always looks beyond compliance and acts as a business advisor to his clients, even acting as a virtual CFO in some cases, giving them a fresh outlook and alternative approaches to solving problems he’s come across many times before.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys family time, plays hockey and baseball and has more recently taken up running.
