We have received some communication from different councils regarding the application for discretionary grants.
Grants are for businesses or charities that were not eligible for other grants that were made available due to the impact of Covid-19.
Local authorities have been asked by government to prioritise the following:
- Small businesses in shared offices or other flexible workspaces. Examples could include units in industrial parks, science parks and incubators which do not have their own business rates assessment;
- Regular market traders with fixed building costs, such as rent, who do not have their own business rates assessment;
- Bed & Breakfasts that pay Council Tax instead of business rates; and
- Charity properties in receipt of charitable business rates relief which would otherwise have been eligible for Small Business Rates Relief or Rural Rate Relief
Please note that Rother District Council deadline for applications is 21st June 2020
We would advise that you apply immediately if you think you may be eligible. More information can be found here.
Hastings Council is now open for applications. The link is here. The deadline is 9am on 24th June.
