HMRC warns of tax refund scam

The Revenue has warned that fraudsters are emailing and texting taxpayers to tell them they are due a tax rebate, leading them to hand over bank account details. Please be assured that HMRC will never inform you of a tax rebate by email or text. It will always be by post or via your employer. Therefore, all these emails and texts are a scam!
